Recently, Stanford University and Elsevier Data Repository released the 2023 World's Top 2% Scientists List, which is categorized into "Lifelong Scientific Influence Ranking" (204,643 collected worldwide, 9 from China), focusing on the influence of scientists entire academic career until now, and "Annual Scientific Influence Ranking" which centers on the academic achievements of the current year (210,198 scientists listed globally and 23,484 from China). Listed among the top 2% of the world's leading scientists are seven scholars from CSUST in light of the "Lifelong Scientific Influence Ranking”, including Zheng Jianlong, Huang Chuangxia, Yang Hongming, Hu Lin, Wang Jin, Meng Ke, Yu Fei. Also among the top 2% world's leading scientists list are 39 scholars from CSUST in light of the "Annual Scientific Influence Ranking"
Seven Scholars Listed Among Top 2% World's Leading Scientists in light of "Lifetime Scientific Influence Ranking”
The Top 2% World's Top Scientists list, the fruit of a collaborative project of Elsevier Database and a team of Stanford professors, is released on Elsevier's Mendeley Data website. The list is based on such comprehensive parameters as the number of citations, h-index (which is used to assess the quantity and level of academic output of researchers), co-author-adjusted hm-index, and citations of individual or first-author articles of nearly 7 million scientists across the world. It covers scientists from 22 disciplines and 176 sub-disciplines ranked top 2% globally, providing a measure of scientists' long-term scientific performance and indicating more objectively and realistically the potential of scientists' output and academic influence.
