On Nov 6th, Doc. James Monahan, Head of the Foreign Exchange Division and Prof. Keqin Gu, Dean of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville visited Changsha University of Science & Technology. VP. Prof. Jiang Changbo, accompanied by Mr. Wu Dilong, Director of International Office, Chen Jian, Dean of the School of Energy & Power Engineering, delegates from International College greeted the guests and exchanged views with them on the promotions and implementations of initiatives of bilateral cooperation between us two universities. The in-depth discussion covered a wide range of potential possibilities on launching a 3+1 program for the undergraduates in the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, a dual degree program for the post-graduates, a short-term academic & cultural exchange program for both faculty & students from CSUST.
Doc. James Monahan expressed his keen concern with the implementation of the dual degree program, and was committed to finalize the preliminary application of the program to the Ministry of Education, PRC.
The discussion aimed to seek a breakthrough and make an additional one to the current joint high education program in CSUST.
