I. Target Applicants
This program is open to full-time high school graduates from countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
II. Majors Available
New Energy Science and Engineering (taught in Chinese).
III. Scholarship Coverage and Criteria
The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance.
IV. Basic Eligibility Requirements
1. Adherence to laws and regulations, good physical and mental health, and outstanding academic performance.
2. Applicants must be under the age of 25 (on September 1, 2024).
3. High school diploma and equivalent certification.
4. Chinese proficiency should ideally reach at least HSK Level 3. Applicants who do not meet the HSK Level 4 requirement of 180 points will be required to undergo a one-year preparatory course upon admission.
V. Application Procedure
1. Log into the Changsha University of Science and Technology International Student Management Service Platform (https://csust.17gz.org/member/login.do), select the “Silk Road” Scholarship Program, and submit the application materials online as per the system’s instructions.
2. After passing the initial review, applicants must pay the application fee of 500 RMB as required. The application fee is non-refundable regardless of admission status. Applicants who pass the initial review will be required to take an online entrance examination, the timing of which will be notified separately.
3. After passing the comprehensive review by our university and receiving the pre-admission notice letter, applicants should submit the application through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System(http://www.campuschina.org) as required.
4. After completing the application, applicants must monitor the application system and their registered email for updates on the application process, review comments, and scholarship assessment results.
5. After being admitted, applicants could go through the procedures for studying in China and register as required.
VI. List of Application Materials
Applicants must fill out and submit the following materials in Chinese or English through our university’s International Student Management Service Platform:
1. Valid ordinary passport (applicants in China must also submit a valid residence permit).
2. High school diploma (current students must provide a pre-graduation certificate and a paper diploma must be presented upon arrival in China in September).
3. Valid high school transcripts.
4. PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNER and blood test report. Applicants must strictly adhere to the requirements listed in the Physical Examination Record for foreigner, complete it in Chinese or English, and ensure which is filled out accurately. Forms incomplete , and those status without the applicant’s photo, the official seal, the signature of the hospital, and the physician’s signature, will be considered invalid. The blank form of PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNER can be downloaded from the attachment.
5. Valid certificate of no criminal record.
6. Proof of Chinese language proficiency (minimum HSK Level 3 with a score of 180 or above).
7. Study plan.
8. Optional: Certificates of awards for various cultural and sports activities.
Note: Application materials in languages other than Chinese or English must be submitted with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

VIII. Miscellaneous
1. Applicants must accurately provide their contact email, telephone number, and mailing address. During the application period, applicants shall respond promptly to emails from our university.
2. Once admitted, changing major or language of instruction will not be available.
3. Upon enrollment, students must carry the original copy of the PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNER and blood test report.
