Scholarship

Section 1 General Provisions

The scholarship is established to show the good spirit of the student and encourage the students to study hard. The evaluation and the judgment of the scholarship shall observe the principle of transparency, fairness and equality. The rules are formulated to regulate the selection of the scholarship and clarify the principle and scheme of the scholarship.

Section 2 Evaluation and Judgment

Article 99 The evaluation of the distinguished international student and award for student from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and oversea Chinese is under the charge of the International Exchange Division.

Article 100 International students, who enroll in regularly, are qualified to apply the scholarship. The applicator must observe the law of China and regulations of the university, have good character, and have no record of crime. Students, who are eligible, may apply for the scholarship once in a school year and may continue to apply the next school year

Article 101 The list of candidates, whose order is arranged by student’s score and record of attendance, and the other material for evaluation need to be submitted to the International Students Office (The list must be arranged in sequence).

Article 102 The candidate’s behavior will be checked by the International Exchange Division.

Section 3 Ranks of Scholarship

Article 103 The details of the scholarship are described as below:

(1) Scholarship for undergraduates and junior college students falls into 3 ranks: 3000 yuan for each student of the first prize in one school year, 2000 yuan for each student of the second prize in one school year, and 1000 yuan for each student of the third prize in one school year.

(2) Scholarship for postgraduates falls into 3 ranks: 5000 yuan for each student of the first prize in one school year, 3000 yuan for each student of the second prize in one school year, and 2000 yuan for each student of the third prize in one school year.

(3) Scholarship for doctors falls into 3 ranks: 6000 yuan for each student of the first prize in one school year, 4000 yuan for each student of the second prize in one school year, and 3000 yuan for each student of the third prize in one school year.

The rank, the winner and the money of the prize will be adjusted in due time to fit the changed condition by the university.

Section 4 The Standard of Evaluation

Article 104 Applicators of the scholarship should satisfy the following conditions:

(1) Having good moral character. The students should abide by the law of China, take part in various activities of teaching or practice organized by the school or the university, keep to the regulation of the university and the social moral codes and behave civilly and friendly.

(2) Being good at study. The student should be zealous in study, be quick at thinking, have a sound foundation of the specialty and have wide knowledge.

(3) Having good habits in life. The student should observe the regulation of the dormitory.

(4) Being in good health. The student should persist in doing exercise, enjoy good mental health and pass the physical examination.

Article 105 Students, who have one of the following conditions, cannot apply for the scholarship of that school year.

(1) The student who violet the law of China or receive the punishment of warning or a more serious one from the university.

(2) The student who fail in the exam or play truant.

(3) The student who do not pay his/her tuition or accommodation fee in time.

(4) The student who are in probation.

Article 106 The scholarship winner, who receive the punishment of probation or a more serious one, shall have his/her scholarship cancelled since the punishment is ordered.

Section 5 Measure for Evaluation

Article 107 The evaluation of the scholarship is built on the total score of the student. The total score consists of the basic score and the extra score.

Article 108 The basic score is the average score of student’s final exam.

Article 109 The student, who satisfy the following conditions, can get the extra scoce.

(1) The student, who win the first prize, the second prize or the third prize in a national competition, shall get the extra score of 3, 2.5 or 2 respectively. In a provincial competition, the first prize winner, the second prize winner and the third prize winner will receive the extra score of 2.5, 2 and 1.5 respectively. In the competition of the university, the first prize winner, the second prize winner and the third prize winner will receive the extra score of 1, 0.8 and 0.5 respectively. In the competition of the school, the first prize winner, the second prize winner and the third prize winner will receive the extra score of 0.3.0, 2 and 0.1 respectively.

(2) The student, whose group achieves the first prize, the econd prize or the third prize of a national competition, shall get the extra score of 3, 2.5 or 2 respectively. The student, whose group achieves the first prize, the second prize or the third prize of a provincial competition, shall get the extra score of 2.5, 2 or 1.5 respectively. The student, whose group achieves the first prize, the second prize or the third prize of a competition of the university, shall get the extra score of 1, 0.8 or 0.5 respectively. The student, whose group achieves the first prize, the second prize or the third prize of a competition of the school, shall get the extra score of 0.3, 0.2 or 0.1 respectively.

(3) The student, who receives the commendation from the school, shall get the extra score of 0.3. The student, who receives the commendation from the university, shall get the extra score of 0.5.

(4) The carders of the class or above, who fulfill their tasks well shall get the extra score of 0.1 to 0.5.

(5) The student, who pass the exam of HSK and obtain its certificate or a higher one, shall get the extra score of 2.

Section 6 Examination and Approval

Article 110 The tentative result of the evaluation must be know to the public and seek opinion for 3 days. Then, it will be summit to the competent authority to examine and approve.

Section 7 Appeal

Article 111 If a student has objection to the tentative result of the evaluation, an appeal can be made to the International Exchange Division within 3 days after the result is published. Upon the appeal, International Exchange Division should collect the opinions widely, make careful investigation and give an answer in 3 days. Approved by the competent authority, the answer (the final result) will be known to the student
